I'm not sure why I've been updating so much. I've pretty much been keeping up with everything now, except for my homework.

I dunno why I'm even writing this journal, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to just... I dunno. Share something that happened today that...it really made my week. I've been feeling kind of crappy lately with the girlfriend freaking out about distance, so my week hasn't been all that great.
Today was testing day, and all the kids from all the schools came to get their next belts, including our adult class. The kids did great, and they had their ceremonies and such before we started our testing.
The kids were adorable, though-- at least the younger ones, anyway. They were really excited.

So it's time or the adults' testing, and we do our self-defense pieces, Kata, tiny bit of floor-work... (We did most of our testing ahead of time, and some of the parents wanted to see demonstrations of the adult self-defense.) The belt ceremoney begins. We each get a certificate and our AMAZING belts. (I may post a picture.)
But aftewards... Sensei told us to stay where we were, because he had to go get something.


We were pretty confused, because he said there would be no surprises this time. I'm not etirely sure about what happened, but he came in with something extra, and started explaining himself.
He said that some of the members in the church-- I'm pretty sure you guys all know we do our classes in the church auditorium-- got together and bought me something.
Two metal fans. A black and a red one.
Oh my god.
I'm sure the look on my face was prceless as I walked up to get them.

Allow me to explain a few things, though. You see, I've been working on getting a fan kata together, and one of my bamboo fans broke, so it's harder to use the way it is now. The reason I was so surprised, though, was because each fan costs $50.
Yeah.
Whoever donated it must REALLY like me. (I can't really even guess who would-- I doubt anyone could afford it.)

It was just so amazing...that someone would do that for me. I wanted to share. I help out a lot in the church, so maybe it was just "karma".
What goes around comes around, huh?

Oh, and by the way: IT'S OVER NINE THOUAND!!!
